It's no secret, I love Luke Bryan.  What's not to love?  He can sing incredibly well, he makes great music,  and he puts on a very entertaining show.  I've had the awesome opportunity to meet him several times and he is a genuinely nice guy.  He's down to earth, the kind of guy that will hang out on a Saturday night, have a few beers, play a few games of cornhole, and then get up the next morning and go bow-hunting.  And then there's the obvious fact that he is GORGEOUS and looks oh-so-fantastic without a shirt.  Let's face it... men want to be him and women want to be with him.  Luke Bryan is AWESOME.

So why are so many people attacking Luke today?  If you haven't heard, Luke sang the National Anthem last night at the MLB All-Star Game.  If you were listening on the radio, you would have thought it was one of the best renditions you have ever heard.  The problem is that the game was televised and while Luke was singing, it appeared as though he was checking his watch and taking a few glances down at the palm of his hand as if he were reading the words.  It turns out, that's exactly what he was doing and because of it, several websites and comment boards have been lighting up today with criticism. 

And that's a shame. 

I don't know about you, but if I were Luke Bryan, I would have done the same thing.  I would WANT that insurance on my hand, rather than have a moment like Christina Aguilera had a few years back at the Superbowl where she completely botched it and forgot the words.  If Luke got nervous and forgot a word, could you imagine the criticism THEN?

I wish people would give the poor guy a break.  Maybe the people on his case should try singing the Anthem in front of tens of thousands of people in a stadium, not to mention millions of TV viewers, and let's see if they can do as great of a job as Luke did.  And he did do a GREAT job.  See for yourself...
