I was so sad last night. I was such a big fan of Desperate Housewives. I've loved it from the beginning, I haven't missed a single episode, and I certainly didn't want to see it go away. But it did. So, I settled in to my spot on the couch last night with my little dog on my lap, and watched the final episode, HOPING it wouldn't have a dumb ending like so many other of my favorite shows along the years.
As far as "final episodes" go, I'd have to say it was one of the best. I am SO happy that Lynette and Tom got back together. I am happy that Bree didn't go to prison (could you imagine Bree in prison? Yikes!!) and that she went on to the Senate in Kentucky. I am sad that Susan and Julie moved away, but I think it was a good story ending. I love that they made Gabby rich. And I am heartbroken that Mrs. McCluskey passed away but loved that they made her save Bree. That final scene where Susan was driving away and all of the ghosts of Wisteria Lane were watching her made me cry. And it was a shame that they couldn't get Edie back as one of the ghosts, but with the lawsuit she filed against Desperate Housewives and their creator Marc Cherry, it's not surprising.
All in all, considering it was one of my FAVORITE shows that went away, I was certainly not disappointed in the finale.
Except one thing... the woman that bought Susan's house. WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? Ugh! Is there a spin-off coming? I kinda hope so!
I just wish they told us what was in the box...
