I don't know about your friends, but pretty much every person I know could use a prescription for this. Warning-NSFW... but really, REALLY funny!!!
We're all entitled to an opinion, right? Zac Brown and Gary Allan certainly have an opinion about the current state of Country music played on the radio. They don't like it.
Zac said "If I hear one more tailgate in the moonlight, Daisy Duke song, I'm gonna throw up." Tell us how you really feel, Zac!!! He also singled out his friend Luke Bryan's latest song "That's My Kind of Night" calling it "one of the worst songs I've ever heard."
Gary Allan recently told Larry King that he does not believe that Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are Country artists, rather they are "pop artists making a living in the Country genre." He went on to explain that he feels that Country artists have "lost our genre" and told Larry King that he doesn't like it.
As long as we're expressing opinions, can I express mine? Well, considering this is my blog and all, I think I'll go ahead and express! Country Music and Country Radio have grown. 30 years ago, people used to complain that it's all twang and tear-in-your-beer. Now people are complaining that it's all tailgates and tan-legged girls. I love an old George Jones song, but I also love Luke Bryan and Zac Brown Band. So answer me this... why can't it be EVERYTHING? That's the beauty of today's Country... it's pop Country like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, it's rocking Country like Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert, it's beachy Country like Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney, it's twangy Country like Trace Adkins and newcomer Tyler Farr, and of course it's "mainstream" Country like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. Country music doesn't HAVE to be one style. It can be everything, and frankly, I love it all. There is no other format I would rather make a living in than Country Radio. And that's MY opinion, anyway...
Here is the clip of Gary's recent visit to the Larry King show.
Check out this 70 year old GREAT Grandmother!!! She caught a fly ball and made it look easy. I love that she went to the ballpark with her glove, just ready to catch something. This is great!
