  • Hi! I'm Casey Carter, the "new girl" here at South 106.1. Thank you for clicking on my page. I am very glad to be here. To tell you a little bit about myself, I grew up in Columbus... but Ohio, not Georgia! My radio career has taken me all over the place, mainly the southeast. It has been like throwing darts at a dartboard to see where I go next. I've gone from Columbus, OH to Charlotte, NC to Virginia Beach, VA back to Columbus, OH to New Orleans, LA to Jacksonville, FL to Lafayette, LA to Birmingham, AL and now here. I'm tired of moving. I want to stay here! Hope that's cool with you...

As an Ohio native, I am a big fan of THE Ohio State University football team. I get a lot of grief about that down here in SEC territory, but I can't abandon my home team! I will always love my Buckeyes. That said, I do admit that overall, the SEC is a much better conference than the Big Ten and on most fall Saturdays, I am watching SEC football. As for pro football, I love the New Orleans Saints. When I lived in New Orleans, I had the time of my life going to Saints games. Unfortunately, that's when they sucked and I never saw them win a game in person in the Superdome. But it doesn't matter... seeing them win the Superbowl a few years ago made me forget the agony of how bad they once were.

I also love NASCAR. Tony Stewart is my favorite driver. I was excited to see him win Rookie of the Year in 1999 and his two Championships in 2002 and 2005, but his Championship run in 2011 was the GREATEST THING EVER in my book! What he did in the Chase was simply unbelievable, and I will never forget that last race at Homestead-Miami as long as I live. What a drive!!! I don't have any kids and I'm not married but I do have a Yorkie that might as well be my kid (or my ruler). His name is Maverick, The Terrier of Terror. He pretty much runs things at my house. It's very much his world, he just lets me live in it. Lucky for me, he likes to watch football and NASCAR too.
